ADJUSTMENT

BUST DART SIZE ADJUSTMENT

If there is excess fabric under the bust dart, or if the bust dart feels too tight, you may need to adjust the bust dart size.

To increase the bust dart size, pinch out the excess fabric and use a measuring tape to measure the addtitional length to take in. (photo)

To decrease the bust dart size, release one bust dart two-thirds of the length and pinch a comfortable amount of fabric along the centre of the dart to measure the length to be released. (photo)

ARMHOLE DEPTH ADJUSTMENT

If there is excessive fabric under the armhole, or an undesired gaping armhole (for a sleeveless Cheongsam), the armhole depth may need to be raised. If it feels too tight under the armhole, you may need to lower the armhole depth for a better fit.

To raise the armhole depth, measure the height that is needed to be raised in order to bring the armhole depth to a comfortable height. (photo)

To lower the armhole depth, measure the height that is needed to be lowered in order to bring the armhole depth to a comfortable height. (photo)

SHOULDER SLOPE ANGLE ADJUSTMENT

If the dress does not sit neatly on your shoulders, you may need to adjust the shoulder slope angle for a better fit.

SHOULDER LENGTH ADJUSTMENT

If the shoulder length is too long or too short, you may need to adjust this length for a better fit. You can tell this from where the sleeve joins to the shoulder point.

To increase the shoulder length, measure the additional length needed. (photo)

To decrease the shoulder length, measure the excess length to be reduced. (photo)
