Course Description
This package of 8 lessons includes the Foundation Bag Sewing Classes (4 lessons) and the Beginner Parenthood Sewing Classes (4 lessons).
Sew Fun’s Beginner Sewing Class (Parenthood version) offers structured and well-paced lessons, providing the perfect environment for participants to master basic sewing skills. Guaranteed to provide much guidance and care just like what Parenthood is about, our instructors will ensure you master basic sewing skills and leave with outputs that delight and are practical.
Participants will complete approximately 6-7 projects (e.g. tool kit, tote bag, drawstring pouch, zippered pouches, bucket hat and twinning parent-child outfits) over 8 lessons. More photographs of projects can be seen on our Facebook album.
By the end of the class, our participants would have gained the confidence to use a sewing machine to embark on their own projects.
Topics covered in the class include:
- Understanding the basics of a domestic sewing machine
- Sewing straight and curved lines
- Drawstring closures
- Using fusible interfacing
- Attaching zippers
- Understanding clothing patterns
- Basic apparel sewing techniques such as serging, and hemming
