Because a lot of students come to us as beginners to the craft of sewing, we often get questions on where to shop for fabric. Here's our take on safe to-go places to purchase fabric, sewing accessories, and other crafty sewing essentials in the lovely and endearing district of Chinatown! This is a great area to source for fabric whether you're new to sewing or are already one with your sewing machine.
We present to you our suggestions for fabric and sewing accessory stores in People's Park Complex, which offers a good concentration of stores selling a variety of fabric suitable for your projects, no matter what you are working on.

Looking to buy a sewing machine? We work with a local Janome distributor, Guan Lee Long Sewing Machine, to sell some of the sewing machine models that are used in our class. They have agreed to supply selected models to our students at a discounted rate. Do inform your instructor during the class, or drop us an email at asksewfun@gmail.com, should you want to purchase a sewing machine.
No time to pop by Chinatown? Take a look at the fabric we have on offer at the Uyii studio! We have regular shipments of fabric from overseas (e.g. Japan, China), and we also use deadstock fabric and vintage materials for our classes and products. Most of our fabrics are not available locally. You may purchase the fabric when you attend classes at our Midview City studio.
